Australian Medical Task Force establishes medical facility

Updated 30 August 2010: The first contingent of Australia's Medical Task Force has arrived in Kot Addu, central Pakistan, to set up a temporary health facility.

On behalf of all Australians, the Australian Government has contributed $35 million and provided a medical task force to support the United Nations and Pakistani Government's flood response.

A number of Australian non-government organisations are appealing for donations to provide emergency assistance.
