For more than 25 years, AusAID’s Focus magazine has been sharing stories about Australia’s overseas aid program and the difference it makes to the lives of people in need.

From the devastation of Typhoon Irving in Vietnam in 1989 to Indonesia’s historic 1999 elections and the ongoing pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals, our magazine has focused on the major events, challenges and achievements within the aid development space.

But have we been focusing on the issues you’re most interested in? Are our stories engaging? Would you like to see a new design? Basically, is our current focus the right one?

The Focus team is now inviting readers to complete an online survey and share ideas on how we can make the magazine even more interesting, useful and relevant. It’s the first formal opportunity readers have had to provide feedback for several years, and everyone is urged to have a say in the future of Focus

The survey is quick and easy to fill out, and the majority of questions are in multiple-choice format. It asks readers to share their thoughts on a range of topics, including:

  • Whether stories should be longer or shorter
  • What readers prefer to see (for example, editorial columns and opinion pieces)
  • What topics readers would prefer to see
  • If the design and layout should be updated
  • If Focus should move exclusively online.

The survey will be open until Friday, 31 August 2012. To complete the survey, please click here.
