Australia is providing long term and effective assistance to Solomon Islands through
the Partnership for Development to reduce poverty and improve progress towards the
Millennium Development Goals. From 1 July 2013 the Partnership for Development will be restructured to include development programs transitioned from RAMSI.
Currently, mutually agreed partnership priorities are:
- Improving health and education services
- Improving economic livelihoods to raise living standards of rural households through
more productive and sustainable use of agricultural land
- Improving economic infrastructure by encouraging greater access to markets and services
through increased access to reliable transport
- Addressing economic and fiscal challenges with better economic management and structural
reforms to make Solomon Islands an attractive and reliable place for business to
invest.
