This book was published under the Safer Communities Project (Improving Disaster Risk Reduction Knowledge Management Systems in the Philippines to Create Safer Environment for Men and Women in Vulnerable Communities) implemented by Oxfam with funding support from AusAID.

The book documents eleven stories on good practices and initiatives on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, including indigenous peoples' practices and experiences from Typhoon Ketsana, implemented by local governments and communities.
